About LA PLAGE
LA PLAGE, “The Beach” in French, was dreamt of by Designer Heidi Brueggeman when she designed a collection of jewelry to complement a popular Resort-based Brand in the U.S. Heidi’s own jewelry line, Sugar, also allowed her to explore exotic colors and mixed textures, but never fulfilled her desire to create women’s garments.
Inspired by the coastal, Lowcountry lifestyle in Beaufort, South Carolina, Heidi recognized a need for 100% cotton garments in the Southern Heat. The vision was to create colorful, quality, pretty clothing in luxurious Indian cottons bringing an effortless, beautiful sense of dressing on even the hottest days…
The stars aligned and 2018 allowed Heidi and friends to travel to Jaipur, India in search of the perfect manufacturing partners, also giving them a wonderful adventure!
Eight years later LA PLAGE is thriving - and now more than ever Heidi understands the need for the authenticity of the artisan's touch. Currently developing the 2027 Collection in Jaipur, Heidi has taken extra care in finding artisans to bring a special feel to the next collection. Not only does this care bring unique products to LA PLAGE garments and customers, but most of these special skills continue to support entire families in and around Jaipur. Methods like hand embellishment and embroidery, hand block printed fabrics and metallic block printing, and other special skills are in danger of being obsolete and replaced by mechanized methods of printing.
LA PLAGE was co-founded in 2018 by Designer Heidi Brueggeman. Still at the helm of the company, Heidi travels to India semi-annually to oversee design, development and operations.
